Project Coordinator
Be Fit Get Moving!
 
 
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Wake Teen seeks a full-time Project Coordinator for its Wake County Coalition for the Prevention and Reversal of Childhood Overweight (Be Fit Get Moving!) grant funded initiative. The Project Coordinator is responsible for the development and coordination of activities related to the Coalition as well as the development and maintenance of infrastructure and administrative requirements to execute the grant. The Project Coordinator must support the mission and vision of the organization.
 
Key Responsibilities of the Position:
 
  • Administration of the grant: internal infrastructure building, referral development and record keeping for reporting purposes;
  • Development and implementation of creative strategies for reaching target audiences around grant and program objectives; such as, coalition development, resource development and targeted outreach and educational development;
  • Development of a community coalition by networking with existing providers, identifying and engaging community and faith leaders, and creating a diverse, culturally appropriate community-based public awareness campaign;
  • Liaison with citizens from communities who are most impacted by the health disparities as well as those at the public policy levels to work together on the multi- dimensional problems;
  • Assistance in writing, editing and producing documents related to coalition activities;
  • Recruit, train, supervise and evaluation volunteers and interns used in all related programs;
  • Organize and manage events to promote the initiative as well as other ways of disseminating information.  
Qualifications:
 
Education:  MPA, MPH preferred
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in relevant field required. 
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in social service or human services organization in a position requiring the skills described above.
 
  • Strong Organizational, communication, coordination, administrative management and writing skills a must.
  • Excellent computer skills required; Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with the health care system and the non profit community in Wake County is desired.
 
*50- 70% is the average amount of time the Project Coordinator is expected to be working in the field and outside of the WT office environment on a weekly basis to be successful in this job.

Nutritionist
 
 
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position requires an individual with the necessary clinical skills to provide direct patient care. The individual in this position must have adequate technical knowledge and experience to perform job duties as well as a courteous and compassionate attitude toward patients. The individual in this position must support the mission and vision of the organization.
 
Key Responsibilities of the Position:
  • Provides basic treatment for nutrition concerns of a short term nature such as anemia. Ensures that all treatment is properly documented in the medical chart.
  • Provides medical nutrition therapy to patients with more chronic health concerns. Ensures that all treatment is properly documented in the medical chart.
  • Provides support and consultation in nutrition related matters to medical and mental health staff.
  • Works with medical and mental health staff to develop a coordinated plan of care for all patients who receive nutrition services.
  • Assists in community education activities and staff inservice training. 
Qualifications: 

Certification/Licensure: Must be either a Registered Dietician (RD) or Licensed Dietician/Nutritionist (LDN) with the NC Board of Dietetics/Nutrition.
